Nadine Dorries vs The Daily Telegraph

Nadine Dorries is my MP. On many things, I do not agree with her. I certainly would not vote for her, but as an elected member of parliament she is entitled to express her opinion within reason.

The Daily Telegraph is a national newspaper. On many things, I do not agree with it. I certainly would not buy it, but as a newspaper in an (allegedly) free country, it is entitled to express its opinion within reason.

Surely our democratic system allows for people to express different opinions and for voters to make up their own mind. So, why is it that the Daily Telegraph feels that it is entitled to try to get Ms Dorries blog shut down, according to Bedfordshire on Sunday. Is it that she chose to question the motives of the Barclay brothers who own the Daily Telegraph?

Ms Dorries' blog is offline at the moment, but it is still available in the Google Cache if you want to try to work out what may have offended this newspaper and its billionaire owners.
